Paint Your Wagon

I'm with Ted. I can learn to live with the dark red paint on the bank building (as if I had a choice), but off the cuff, I think it's ugly in a lurid, raw-steak manner. So what if the color points to its "historic roots?" Sometimes you just gotta dye those roots, honey.

I think the dark red color is rich and elegant especially with the copper cupola. I assume the plan is for it the cupola to let it acquire a natural jade green patina. All those traditionalist critics who experience architectural comfort only with white and bland pastels might consider a little aesthetic stretching. Also, a little patience until the building is complete may be useful before making further self aggravating judgments.
